Glitz, Glam, and Black Excellence: My Experience at the 55th NAACP Image Awards!

Hey y'all! I had the time of my life at the 55th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles! As a press escort with the amazing BET PR team, this was my sixth event on the red carpet, and let me tell you, it just keeps getting better and better.

First off, let's talk about the venue – while it was a little different than the usual, the Shrine center in LA was dripping with elegance and history, the perfect backdrop for celebrating Black excellence in all its glory. From the moment you stepped onto the red carpet, you could feel the energy in the air.

So when it comes to working these red carpets I often get the question, what do you actually do? Let me explain. As a press escort, my job is to manage talent and coordinate media interviews during the red carpet. Seems simple, but there are so many things that work together to create the magic you see on the screen. IYKYK! From guiding celebrities down the red carpet with style and grace to making sure media outlets got their time with the stars, we kept the show running smoothly like the PR badasses we are.

And can we talk about the talent? Honey, the stars were out in full force, serving looks and slaying the game left and right. From A-list actors to chart-topping musicians, including Usher, Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, Halle Bailey, DDG, Kyla Pratt, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Fantasiae and so many more everyone was there to celebrate and shine their light for this special occasion.

But you know what the best part was? Seeing our community come together to uplift and support one another. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of representation and the importance of celebrating our achievements in the entertainment industry.

So, here's to another unforgettable night at the NAACP Image Awards – until next time, stay fabulous and keep shining!
